| This
site is under re-construction because I did something dumb and
broke a bunch of links - sorry, but please bear with me as I go
through a redesign and get everything back where it belongs.

An
international award-winning photographer, my passions are my
cameras and wild
things - birds, weeds, flowers and animals with an occasional
bug or other creepy-crawly thrown in.
I would
also classify myself
as an educator and my
special joy is teaching people, especially children, about the
wonders of Mother Nature. This site feeds the teacher in me.
With over
15 years as a photojournalist, I have documented joys and
tragedies, births and deaths. Nothing comes close, though, to
the drama and serenity Mother Nature provides for us daily if we
would only stop to look and listen. I frequently get sidetracked
with the show she puts on for me, and in which I find a special
joy capturing with my cameras.
I am also a Certified Domestic
Pesticide Dispenser and have a BC Integrated Pest Management
course under my belt as well. I have a background in management
of a garden center, a job I loved as it combined my love of
teaching, wild things and people.
This website is one that will
never be finished. I have been shooting weeds and wildflowers
digitally for over 10 years and have hundreds of thousands of
images, but there are always more pictures to take, new
plants to discover and new things to research about them. While
this site, to date, is focused mainly on the plants and wild
things I found in the Kelowna BC area, some are found everywhere
in North America. I would love to be able to travel
to the different parts of British Columbia to chronicle all our
wonderful province has to offer.
I hope you have found this
site beneficial, learned about the plants and birds in your neighbourhood
and especially, that it has helped you to identify the noxious
weeds and, through the links provided, learned how to deal
with the invasive species. If my photos have provided a smile or
an "oooh" or an "awww", please let me know.
If you live in the Kelowna
area and have found a wild plant or bird not on this site, please
contact
me so I can add it.

NOTE: All photos and graphics on this site are

My photos

mugs, mouse pads and a lot of other items. If you see something
